Privacy policy

Jigsaw Together has no accounts and no advertising. This page lists everything the service stores, why it stores it, and how to have it removed. Last updated 1 August 2026.

What we store

Your IP address

Recorded when you visit a page, create a puzzle, complete a puzzle, upload a photo, or report content. It is used to understand traffic volume, to distinguish visitors without accounts, and to investigate abuse. An IP address is personal data under the GDPR; the lawful basis is our legitimate interest in operating and protecting the service.

A visitor cookie

A random identifier (pm_vid) is set so repeat visits can be counted without an account. It contains no personal information and is not shared. In the mobile app the same role is played by a random identifier generated on first launch and stored on your device; it is not a hardware or advertising id, and it is removed when you uninstall the app.

Puzzles you create

The room code, name, piece count, whether it was public, and the times it was created and completed. Game state — where the pieces are — is held only in memory and is discarded thirty minutes after the last player leaves.

Photos you upload

If you make a puzzle from your own picture, the image is stored on our server so other players in that room can see it. Uploaded photos always create a private room and are never listed publicly, so the picture is only visible to people you give the room code to. Uploads are retained until removed by moderation or by request.

Content reports

If you report a puzzle we store the room code, the reason, any note you wrote, your IP address and your visitor identifier, so we can review the report and act on repeat abuse.

Your display name

The name shown to other players exists only for the life of the room and is never stored. It defaults to a random guest name.

What we do not do

How long we keep things

Children

The service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Objectionable content

Because anyone can make a puzzle from their own photo, every room has a report button, and the app also lets you block a room immediately. We review reports and remove content that breaks our terms. There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour.

Your rights

If you are in the EEA or UK you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and you may object to our processing of it. Because there are no accounts, please include the room code, the approximate time, and — if you are asking about an upload — the picture, so we can find the right records.

Contact

Privacy requests and content reports: contact@jigsawtogether.com. We aim to respond within seven days, and to act on reports of objectionable content within 24 hours.
